Situated about 130 kms in the east of Leh, Nubra Valley at an altitude of 3175 meters, is also knoown as the Orchard of Ladakh. Surrounded by snow capped peaks of Himalayan range, breathtaking and picturesque Nubra Valley lies sandwiched between Tibet and Kashmir. Charming villages and farms are interspersed with herds of grazing goats, sheep or yaks, set against the backdrop of the mountains.
After driving on the highest motorable road in the world through the awe-inspiring Khardung La pass at an altitude of 5500 meters, Nubra Valley is also the home to Bactrian camels with double hump. The cold desert between Diskit and Hunder has been an important stopover on ancient silk route for trade with central Asia and, for centuries, these Bactrian camels were the only mode of transport.
Nubra Valley is pre-dominantly Buddhist and has some of the finest and ancient Buddhist monasteries like Diskit and Hunder which house centuries old paintings, thangkas and sculptures.

ITINERARY
Day-1 : After your breakfast at your hotel in Leh, leave Leh in the morning by your private vehicle driving through the picturesque Khardung La pass. Important: We assume that you have already stayed in Leh for around 2-3 nights for acclametization. Drive of around 5 hours will take you to Diskit, the headquarter of Nubra Valley. Check-in and overnight at your luxury tent. Soak in the serenity of surroundings during the day.
Day-2 : After an early mornig wake-up call, visit Diskit Monastery or Gompa perched on a high hill in Diskit village. Belonging to the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism, Diskit gompa is considered to be the oldest and largest of Nubra valley. Start your day with a special prayer performed by Buddhist lamas in the monastery high-up near the Maitreya Buddha. The monastery houses a statue of the Cho Rinpoche “The Crowned Buddha” in the prayer hall, a huge drum and several images of fierce guardian deities.
Later your breakfast at hotel, we usher you for adventurous ride on the double hump Bactrian camel on the sand dunes of the Hunder cold desert. be a part of the dreams and glories of the merchants, and monks as they travelled these very sands in search of Gold, Glory and God in the days of a forgotten era. Check-in and overnight at your luxury tent.
Day-3 : After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, visit to the picturesque village of Sumur located across the Shyok and Nubra Rivers. If you like, you can go for a rafting in the shimmering Shyok river which flows down from the famous Rimo Glaciers in the Karakoram Range and meet the blessed land in the wide Nubra Valley. Later drive towards the most northern road on the Saichen Glacier route and then hike towards the hidden lake – Yarab Tso – which is one of the high altitude and sacred lakes in the Nubra Valley. The crystal clear holy water of this lake secluded within a rocky terrain will leave you with ever remembering memories. Followed this experience at the lake, experience local life and be a part of the special initiative by the Women’s Alliance of Nubra. These hard working women of the villages of Nubra have collaborated to come together in activities like handicrafts, documentation of natural and oral history along with traditional performing arts. Return to your luxury tent in Diskit for overnight.
Day-4 : Post breakfast at your tent in Diskit, drive back to Leh via Wari-La pass - one of the most picturesque parts of the Trans-Himalayan region.
